The NB BALL SPLINE is a linear motion mechanism utilizing the rolling motion of balls. It is used in a wide range of fields such as conveyor systems and robots because it can apply radial load and torque at the same time.
Features
The NB BALL SPLINE consists of a spline shaft with a transfer groove and an outer cylinder. A cage, side rings, and steel balls are incorporated inside the spline outer sleeve, which is designed and manufactured to slide smoothly.
Large load capacity and long life
The raceway surface is precision ground to an R shape approximating the diameter of the steel balls, resulting in a large contact area for the steel balls, high load capacity, and long life.
Wide Variety of Variations
The NB is available in spline shaft nominal diameters from 4 to 100, and in cylindrical, flanged, and block shapes, as well as in stainless steel depending on the model number.
High-precision torque transmission is possible
The transfer grooves on the shaft and outer casing form an appropriate contact angle with the steel balls, which allows the transmission of large torque. Also, preload is applied to reduce the clearance in the rotational direction to zero, thereby increasing rigidity and enabling accurate rotational positioning.
Easy additional processing
The NB BALL SPLINE uses a round shaft with a transfer groove, making it easy to machine the shaft end, etc. for mounting.
High-speed motion and rotation are possible.
